Nature Journalling and slender tree-fern spotting
We spent the morning at Tarwin River Forest to observe the critically endangered slender tree-ferns within this magic rainforest environment. This was a joint event with our friends at Gippsland Threatened Species Action Group.
We gathered in the misty rain for a cup of tea around the campfire before breaking out in a few different directions - down the gullies to see the slender tree-ferns or over to the dam and up into the suspended bird hide.Â
The drizzle made sketching a little difficult (water colours, anyone?) but the simplicity of a little “shinrin-yoku —‘forest bathing’ — was a perfect start to the weekend. We bookended the morning with another cuppa by the campfire.Â
Stuart and Victoria continue to demonstrate incredible custodianship of this land in Turton’s Creek.
Thank you to Heath Warwick for these wonderful photos.
