"Hope is not a feeling, it is a strategy." – Doug Humann AM, Landcare Australia.
Prom Coast Ecolink's President Anda Banikos attended (and presented at!) the 2025 National Landcare Conference on the Gold Coast. Anda writes...
"I am inspired after attending the National Landcare Conference 2025! Delighted to present about the Prom Coast Ecolink Halfway Hoddle Project and to connect with the national Landcare community. It was wonderful to hear so many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices at every stage of the conference.Â
The main threads throughout the conference were of biolinks, First Nations and youth. Themes that particularly resonated for me were in the biodiversity restoration across landscapes stream - there is some brilliant work being done in this space.Â
It was fantastic to be there with others from South Gippsland and I look forward to building on the cross-pollination of ideas and connections!Â
Costa Georgiadis wove the conference together as MC, with energy and humour and I loved details like the table decorations at the Gala Awards Dinner, which were no waste produce which would go to make charity meals and flowers which were being sent to nursing homes and hostels.Â
Congratulations to the organisers Landcare Australia and QWaLC .
