About the event
Join us to hear ecologist Dylan Osler share results from his threatened flora survey of Cape Liptrap Coastal Park, a place many of us know by name but few know well. The talk will be followed by the PCEL AGM from roughly 2:30pm. Stay on if you'd like, or head off, entirely up to you!
Between August 2025 and January 2026, Dylan surveyed 1,730 hectares from Waratah Bay through Walkerville and Walkerville South. He recorded over 420 flora species, including 41 bryophytes, many never before documented in the park. The survey also flagged real threats to these species, including inappropriate fire regimes, feral deer and weeds.
Cape Liptrap is a vital link in Prom Coast Ecolink's work connecting habitat from the Strzelecki rainforest to the coast. Understanding what's here is the first step to protecting it.
