About the event

As part of Coastcare's Summer by the Sea program, we are excited to offer this unique FREE event alongside Friends of the Prom and the Fish Creek Landcare Group.


We have engaged geologist and palaeontologist Mike Cleeland to lead a community walk from the Tidal River campground. The walk will follow the geological features described in local geologist Gary Wallis' booklet Wilsons Promontory – Geology Guide. A copy of the guidebook is included in your booking to refer to as we take an easy walk along Tidal River and Norman Beach at low tide. Mike Cleeland will bring its contents to life with his expertise in the field, discussing the geological features along the way.


MEET: BBQ/picnic area by the Norman Beach carpark (look for the Prom Coast Ecolink flag!)

BRING: Water bottle, sunscreen, hat, weather-appropriate clothing, and footwear suitable for walking on the beach.
