Listening listening Listening………..it is time for the Annual Lyrebird Count !
Each year, volunteers gather at sunrise to listen and record the location of Menura novaehollandiae - the superb lyrebird.
Now in its 12th year, the Annual Lyrebird Count is an initiative by a group of local volunteers committed to monitoring lyrebird activity in the Cape Liptrap Coastal Park.
The weekend includes 3 sessions - a volunteer briefing on Friday night, followed by two dawn listening sessions on both Saturday and Sunday.
